Christmas Time!
Oh! It’s that time of the year again! The time when our soul urges to come back home to the warm embrace of our loved ones, cosying up under the blanket with steaming hot brewed coffee, cold feet snuggled inside fuzzy socks, fruit cakes to savour the sweet tooth. It’s Christmas!
It’s is no wonder that Christmas always brings about a sense of nostalgia in me. I began to yearn for the simpler times, A walk down the memory lane, remembering the early days when I was little girl. Although I still struggle to understand why adults bursts the bubbles for little kids who believe in Santa? He is not an imaginary character, he is, perhaps, the very embodiment of our Parents, the ones with nothing but unconditional love in their hearts for us, fulfilling all of our little desires and what not!
As an adult, the thrill of winter festivities has been very much remained the same in me. This year amidst the global pandemic, people still harbours the will to enjoy life. The chaos and fear in their minds have been lowered down to numbness. What’s the point of being alive if we don’t live to the fullest even it is the last? Gratefully, this Christmas was not a terrible as I imagined it to be. Park street was reawakening from its gloomy slumber, re-embellished with lights and glory, Christmas Carnival brought back the life in the ‘City of Joy’.
My conventional visit to Park street, alike every year on Christmas was constant this year as well. My day ended with dining out, which feels like ages later, with my friends and family. I am indeed grateful to be happy and healthy during these trying times, surrounded by my dearest human beings. Christmas was as usual a wonderful holiday spent with good food and drinks, with a bit of anticipation for the new year and its new endeavours.
