Durga Puja is knocking at the door. Are we ready?
This year has been a whirlwind. It has surprised us from its beginning with all sorts of bad events. It is a year that we all will remember for the problems it created in the whole world.
Durga Puja has a different charm altogether. It is the main festival that I wait for being a Bengali. As an artist also, I get to work a lot in this festive season. I travel a lot to attend live music concerts and different events. I perform in multiple places and get to meet my fans and followers in person.
However, I am not feeling the pure festive vibe this year. I am just not feeling the same excitement that makes me buy a new pair of shoes, dresses, and gifts for my dear ones.
Everything has become virtual. I am joining concerts and performing for my fans. But, trust me, I cannot feel the same energy that I am used to in the live shows.
I am not thinking about us, the performers but I am thinking about them who do the needful to run an event smoothly. The make-up artists, the stage makers, the technicians, and many more professionals depend on the shows. The events offer them financial support. Because of the virtual concert, they are losing a lot of opportunities.
I don’t know when everything will be normal again. But I pray every day and request God to shower his blessings on us all.
